New Delhi: The Central Government is planning to hand over 1000 electric cars to its ministers and key officials by the end of this December. India is currently in the 3rd position in importing of Fuel and decided to get out of that burden.
The government is ready to implement its plan of action of introducing electric cars. The National Capital Region (NCR) for electric vehicles has already announced that over 400 charging points will be established. Some countries in Europe are already using electric sedan to save more fuel. Keeping this in mind, the Indian government has decided to invite bids for ten thousand electric cars.
On Friday, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has invited to bid for these cars. Central Electricity Minister Piyush Goyal said that agreement was finalized between EESL and Petrol Bunk owners for the sale of LED lights at Petrol Bunks. EESL MD. Saurabh Kumar said the government will buy 1,000 electric vehicles on this occasion. These electric cars will give mileage of about 120-150 km if charged for one time. The maintenance cost of these cars is also low.
