Anupam Kher: The New Chairman of FTII

Anupam Kher

Actor Anupam Kher succeeds Gajendra Chauhan as the new chairman of Film and Television Institute of India ( FTII), Pune.

The two year stint of Chauhan ended in march 2017.

Kher, previously held the post of Chairman of CBFC and National School of Drama.

He has been appeared in more than 500 films and been part of few international movies like Bend It Like Beckham, Lust, Caution, and the 2013 Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook.​

Anupam Kher is an awardee of  Padma Shri in 2004 and Padma Bhushan in 2016.

Many popular film personalities including Naseeruddin Shah, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Shatrughan Sinha, Resul Pookutty and the late Om Puri are alumnus of FTII.
